Congratulations to FHS seniors Jacoby Knop, Ainsley Giesselmann, Maddie McBratney, Kate Denker, Mattie Dalton and Caden Ristau for signing to play athletics at the next level! 🏀 Jacoby Knop will be playing wheelchair basketball at Southwest Minnesota State University. 🏌️‍♀️ Ainsley Giesselmann will be playing golf at the University of Central Missouri. 👟 Maddie McBratney will be participating in cross country and track at Nebraska Wesleyan University. 🏐 Kate Denker will be playing volleyball at Morningside University. 🏐 Mattie Dalton will be playing volleyball at the University of North Dakota. ⚾️ Caden Ristau will be playing baseball at Mount Marty University.

Congratulations to the FHS Yearbook Team! At the end of last school year, the team won state champion at NSAA State Journalism for Yearbook Theme Development. At the Nebraska High School Press Association convention, they received a Cornhusker award, which is the highest award for journalistic excellence in Nebraska high school publications, for the 2024 The Black and Gold "Lo Que Sera, Sera" Yearbook, as well as receiving two Golden Kernel Awards for Theme Concept and Graphic Design. Students Cassandra Santillan, Amy Rodriguez, Thalia Gonzalez Barrios and Jaime Ortega Castro presented a workshop on having both English and Spanish in the school newspaper and yearbook. Way to go!

Congratulations to Scott Anderson for being chosen as the Nebraska High School Press Association Administrator of the Year! FHS Student Sophia Turpitt read the following speech during the awards ceremony, "Today I am proud to present the award of administrator of the year to Fremont High Schools activity director Mr. Anderson...Mr. Anderson embodies the true qualities of a leader. He consistently supports and ensures that we have all the resources we need. He has unwavering support and dedication for journalism, fine arts, and sports, Mr. Anderson's ability to listen to his students and staff is unparalleled; he values our opinions and always makes time for our concerns. If you have ever talked to Mr. Anderson then you understand how kind and welcoming of a person he truly is….Thank you Mr. Anderson for all that you do for Fremont High School." Congratulations Scott!

Today student leaders from 4th, 5th and 6th grades attended the Region 2 Leadership Conference at UNO with adult leaders. These amazing students represented out district well from all seven elementary buildings and JCAC! We want to thank the Fremont Public Schools Foundation for their sponsorship of this event and T-shirts. Go Tigers!

This week FMS JAG students made Presentations Surprise!! Groups of students made presentations about a “how to” topic. For example, how to plant a garden…but the surprise was they had to present someone else’s presentation!! Students worked on communication and inferring skills as they had to “teach” their classmates the other groups’ presentations! The students had such a fun time with this activity!

Let the build begin!! FMS STS 2 students are starting their robotics unit! Students worked in pairs with a full robotics kit to build their very own robot! Stay tuned for more of the building process and the final result!
